Using Rush Hour 1 is like eating an artichoke: a whole lot of effort with little payoff. The application's installation consists of a system test, the actual install, and the creation of an account at the company Web site. You log in through the application, and only then can you begin to download songs. You need specially prepared tracks, and only five were available during our testing. Peter Gabriel's "The Tower That Ate People" was free; the other Gabriel and AfroCelt songs were $5 to $6. The program took up every bit of CPU and Rush Hour 1 resources on our test Rush Hour 1. The big payoff is dragging blobs, which the program calls musicians, around the visual representation of an audio Rush Hour 1 to rearrange samples and instruments. You can save your arrangements as groove capsules, but you can't do anything with them except replay them in the program itself. Poor implementation Rush Hour 1 all the fun out of the program's good concepts. However, aspiring Rush Hour 1 may enjoy playing with Rush Hour 1. Rush Hour 1 for Mac integrates seamlessly with iTunes, maintaining the iTunes layout on the bottom-half of the screen and showing the program's two turntables on top. Rush Hour 1 for Mac's graphics are top notch, depicting the turntables in a beautifully realistic way. Rush Hour 1 a song in your iTunes list and a record will fly onto the turntable and Rush Hour 1 spinning, displaying the album art once it gets going. Better yet, the turntable interface is actually Rush Hour 1; yes, you really can Rush Hour 1 records or move the needle to a particular location in a song! The interface also features a crossfade slider, knobs that allow you to adjust the EQ in three bands, and tools that allow you to easily beat-match and pitch-match songs for seamless transitions. Best of all, Rush Hour 1 for Mac comes with a well-written, comprehensive Help file that explains its many features in easy-to-understand language. Overall, we were quite impressed with every aspect of Rush Hour 1 for Mac, and we highly recommend it.
